The Allia Serious Impact Incubator is a 9 month workspace and support programme that incubates early to mid-stage ventures with east London connections.

Industry experts play a key role in our support delivery, providing workshop sessions, panels talks and 1:1 mentoring. We have a Faculty who are core members of our support delivery, as well as experts who provide ad hoc sessions. Below are some of the East London Serious Impact experts who will be supporting the Incubator in 2018/19.

Mark Sean Elliott

Grace Graham

Leadership and Inspiration

Grace Graham is a business and community activist, supporter of women, and winner of the Haberdarsher's Company Enterprise Award 2016.
Grace is the FSB Hackney Borough Facilitator and works in collaboration with Allia Future Business Centre and Hackney Council to support businesses in the borough. She is Vice Chair of Governors of Primary School, Executive Board Member of a non-religious church and Business Award Judge.
Grace has had 20 years experience in leadership & management, with almost 15 years in training and teaching.

Nick Ferguson

Strategy, Marketing and Branding

Nick studied Hospitality Management at the Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne, Switzerland, and then dived into a successful corporate marketing career at Wallpaper* Magazine and Estee Lauder Companies in London. There he trialled a cutting-edge loyalty programme at MAC Cosmetics; he established partnerships with luxury brands Asprey and Boucheron Paris to elevate the Creme de la Mer brand and accelerate growth.

He has now started his own marketing consultancy, INCK London, and when he’s not working can be found eating and drinking with friends and imitating accents.

Sonia Rehill

PR and Communications

A highly experienced senior Public Relations professional with a multi-disciplinary background of strategic communications predominantly across the financial services/FinTech sector – Personal/Consumer Finance, Stock Market investing, Peer-to-peer lending, Equity Crowdfunding, Digital Banking, Robo-advice, and recently in Venture Capital funding and Blockchain technology.

Considerable expertise in creating compelling content for different audiences. Proven ability to grasp complex issues quickly and turn those into clear, concise, and measurable PR campaigns using both traditional and online media platforms. Also able to plan and execute global media relations for new territory launches – targeted, effective and results-driven media liaison skills.

Experience in managing PR on a small budget and projects in excess of £100,000, developing strategy, overseeing agency support, and building in-house teams.

Jebtha Kapirial

I am a Chartered Accountant, specialising in advising owner managed business in a number of sectors in respect of their financial and taxation affairs. I am passionate about working with start-ups and seeing the businesses grow. I have had the opportunity to work closely with a variety of clients and become a trusted advisor for any business issues the clients were facing and I look forward to working with some more. The accountancy profession is changing for the better with the aid of technology and I am very excited to be part of this change in the way we service our clients.

Seema Mangoo

Seema founded her business in 2015 and has had a range of success since its inception, from seeing client numbers double in 2016 to being shortlisted for two FSB London awards in 2017.

With over 15 years of project management, teaching and administrative experience. Seema has a varied and exciting professional career, working in positions as diverse as a managing a highly political government project and teaching English in Japan, her support skills benefit a wide variety of businesses, across a diverse range of sectors.

Seema has a passion for knowledge which has proven to be of great benefit to the businesses and individuals she works with. Being the lifelong learner that she is, Seema was also the Chair of a Primary School Governing Board until Autumn 2017 and remains on the board. She is also a mentor to a start-up business network and a fellow female founder.

Gillian Roche-Saunders

Financial Law

Gillian is a regulatory adviser to financial services firms, particularly those in the venture capital, social impact and FinTech sectors. In 2016 she established and has since grown a consultancy which is dedicated to providing such advice. BWB Compliance is one of two consultancies that sits alongside the legal practice at Bates Wells Brathwaite. Gillian is also a Director at the EIS Association and provides regulatory support to the UK Crowdfunding Association and the National Taskforce on Social Impact Investing.

Freelance PR, social media and marketing consultant with 6 years experience in agency and in-house and a background as a journalist at Sky News.

I have worked with a number of start-ups and SMEs, some of which have grown into mutli-National businesses.

This experience has also led me to create good contacts with Angel Investors and various other support networks for entrepreneurs.

Andrew Clark

Business Affairs executive with 12 years of experience that includes the management of global business, product and commercial functions at major media companies and leading operations during the set up and growth of technology-focused businesses and initiatives.

12 months ago I left my role running operations at Spinnup (a platform providing unsigned artists with the tools they need to release and make an income from their work) and as VP, Digital Business Affairs at Universal Music Group (UMG). I now have my own consultancy business with an emphasis on working with companies developing new products, technologies and platforms in the media space.

Gary Fawdry

Strategy and Social Impact

I currently work for Nesta, the UK’s innovation foundation, within their Challenge Prize Centre. I co-ordinate an international consortium delivering the European Social Innovation Competition on behalf of the European Commission. This is a yearly competition with a changing theme, offering three winners €50,000 each, as well as providing mentoring and training to 30 semi finalists. The competition aims to support and encourage social innovation across Europe. Prior to this, I worked in the youth social action sector, first for Generation Change and then vInspired. In these roles I supported young people to volunteer in their communities in meaningful ways. I sit on the board of the youth and community development charity Hackney Quest, and founded the social impact career directory and mentoring scheme Progressive Careers. I hold an MA in Public Administration and Public Policy from the University of York.

Francesca Pileggi

Francesca’s background is in start-up mainly covering Finance and Business Development roles. She has been working in Berlin for 4 years before moving to London 2 years ago.

In Berlin she worked for two years at Rocket Internet managing their Fashion and Food portfolios in term of investments, M&A and overall finance performance and controlling for the groups' shareholders.

Some of her current collaborations are with GIZ, setting up and running and accelerator for Inclusive Businesses in Egypt, and ClearlySo, doing impact assessments analysis on their client's portfolios.

Since then, David has carved a niche helping Start-up Founders and Small Businesses Owners to identify, develop and implement their Marketing Strategy based on their current stage of growth, resource and budget.

As a Small Business Owner himself, David takes pride in being able to understand and analyse his clients’ and Mentees' current situation, where they are looking to go next and optimising resources to empower them to reach those goals and navigate challenges along the way.

Sam is an Investment Manager at Centrica Innovations, a £100m fund established by Centrica to help drive innovation and seek new avenues for growth through start-up investment, internal innovation projects and new service development. Sam also ran his own start-up in 2013, achieving £2m turnover and raising significant sums from high profile investors before exiting in 2015 and entering the world of corporate innovation.

Greg Jarrett is an award-winning creative and digital business founder. He’s set-up and managed a digital agency, e-commerce platform and a mobile app business. He loves start-ups, innovation and building amazing products with special people.

He’s worked with a large range of businesses from small start-ups to listed companies like British Airways, Visa and Paysafe. He’s a hands-on digital product guy at heart, one his favourite books is “4 steps to the epiphany.”

Peter is a solicitor with over 10 years experience, and worksin the technology group at leading entertainment and media firm, Russells. Peter advises on all matters relating to technology, data management and copyright licensing. He is also an expert on collective licensing and has worked on policy, governance and regulatory matters in the sector. Peter has been extensively involved in music industry data management projects, including the multi-territory VRDB repertoire database.

He successfully run startups, scaled and exited both in the UK and abroad. He also taught Branding & Corporate innovation as a visiting lecturer in Cass Business School. A volunteer mentor to startups from the MSc in Entrepreneurship and the MBA students, a member of the advisory board of the first Entrepreneurship Museum. He also volunteers as the Innovation ambassador for the Solar Trade Association and he has personally invested in a number of clean-tech startups were he assists as a coach and advisor.
